Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has charged local governments to prioritize impactful projects that uplift grassroots communities, saying there’s no excuse for inaction.
He made this known on Saturday during the disbursement of the ₦50 million Eket ARISE Empowerment Initiative and small business grants to 500 beneficiaries, organized by Eket Local Government.
Governor Eno, represented by Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Frank Archibong, also commissioned the new 5,000-capacity Eket City Hall and laid the foundation for an ultra-modern Eket Legislative Complex.
“These are landmark projects,” Eno said. “This isn’t just a hall for a senatorial district—it’s one the entire state can use. Eket is setting the pace.”
Archibong assured that the Governor would soon visit the facility in person and contribute further to its development, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to the ARISE Agenda.
