Public Call for Grants to CSOs Supporting Women’s Empowerment in Bosnia and Herzegovina

CARE Balkans, in collaboration with regional partners ENECA (Serbia), EWI – Economic Inclusion and Justice for Women of the Western Balkans Entrepreneurial Center (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Strategic Development Consulting (North Macedonia), and Tehnopolis (Montenegro), is implementing the Economic Inclusion and Justice for Women in the Western Balkans (EWI) project.

This three-year initiative aims to enhance women’s economic rights and empower them across the Western Balkans.

Funding Information

Each selected CSO will receive financial support of EUR 10,000.

A total of EUR 30,000 is available for three organizations.

Program Benefits

Training and Capacity Building

Four-day training covering key topics such as community collaboration, advocacy, public speaking, leadership, and financial management.

Two-day online fundraising training, including project proposal writing and crowdfunding strategies.

Access to online consultations with CARE experts for project development and funding strategies.

Increased Visibility and Networking

Enhanced reputation through project communication activities at the local and regional levels.

Opportunities to connect with local governments, decision-makers, and other CSOs through joint activities and advocacy.

Experience-sharing with organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.

Practical Application of Acquired Knowledge

Support for long-term sustainability.

Expected Project Outcomes

Women entrepreneurs in target regions develop and sustain businesses through financial and technical support.

Improved employability of women through skills development, vocational education, and training.

Enhanced economic inclusion for women at community and societal levels.

Strengthened institutional capacity to integrate gender-sensitive policies into employment and entrepreneurship programs.

Geographic Focus

The project targets organizations operating in the following areas:

Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (Mostar, Jablanica, Prozor-Rama, Konjic, Stolac, Čapljina, Čitluk, Neum, Ravno)

West Herzegovina Canton (Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje, Bugojno, Široki Brijeg, Ljubuški, Posušje, Grude, Trebinje, Ljubinje, Bileća)

Eligibility Criteria

Civil society organizations (CSOs) meeting the following criteria are invited to apply:

Led by women and/or focused on women’s empowerment.

Active in the target cities and municipalities.

Registered as an association for at least three years, operating under democratic principles with transparent governance.

100% domestically owned.

Demonstrated positive business performance from 2022 to 2024.

Proven experience in women’s economic empowerment and support activities.

Commitment to a gender-sensitive and community-based approach.
