NAHCON boss mourns Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi

Sheik BauchiThe Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission, of Nigeria, Prof. Abdullahi Usman has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

Usman said that the late Islamic icon remained a strong supporter of pilgrims’ welfare, as he played special roles in the growth and reform of the Hajj sector in Nigeria.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by his Technical Assistant on Media, Ahmad Muazu, the NAHCON boss sent his condolences to the immediate family, students and followers of the late scholar.

He described his death as a great loss the Muslim Ummah.

He said the scholar’s counsel helped improve religious guidance and spiritual readiness for Nigerians performing Hajj.

According to Usman, whenever the commission needed direction on sensitive matters of faith, the late Bauchi’s doors were open.

“His wisdom provided practical solutions that improved the system used to serve pilgrims today.
