MUSWEN Commissions Alhaja Taibat Ali Shopping Mall in Ibadan

The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) on Sunday commissioned a new shopping complex in Ibadan, Oyo State. The facility, named Alhaja Taibat Ali Mall, is strategically located within the bustling Agbeni Market.

Speaking at the commissioning, MUSWEN President, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, expressed deep gratitude to Prof. Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN), a member of the MUSWEN Board of Trustees (BoT) and donor of the property. He noted that MUSWEN had transformed the previously existing structure into the modern commercial hub now unveiled.

Oladejo prayed Allah to reward Prof. Ali for his generosity, while also acknowledging another notable contribution: the donation of a two-room bungalow at the Federal Housing Estate, Lugbe, Abuja, by Dr. AbdurRauf Bolanle Olawale Babalakin (SAN), Chairman of MUSWEN BoT. According to him, plans are already underway to reconstruct and modernize the Abuja property.

“With this new structure at the ever-bubbling Agbeni Market,” Oladejo remarked, “MUSWEN is confident of generating more revenue to strengthen its operations.” He also commended Alhaji Murisiku Abidemi Siyanbade, Chairman of MUSWEN Property Development Committee, for designing and supervising the project to completion “in record time.”

Prof. Ali (SAN), in his address, urged affluent Muslims to contribute meaningfully to Islamic causes and support fellow believers. He expressed appreciation to MUSWEN for naming the mall after his mother, Alhaja Taibat Ali, who was present at the occasion.

The event featured prayers and tributes. Prof. Dawud Noibi, pioneer Executive Secretary of MUSWEN, praised Prof. Ali’s unwavering support for MUSWEN, Islam, and human development, stressing that acts of giving in Allah’s cause are always rewarded. He urged other Muslims to emulate the examples of Prof. Ali and Dr. Babalakin.

Similarly, Prof. Latifat Durosinmi offered prayers for Prof. Ali, his mother, the MUSWEN leadership, and all members of the association.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by MUSWEN Executive Secretary, Prof. Muslih Tayo Yahya. The occasion was graced by MUSWEN Deputy President I, Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti, alongside other officials and distinguished Muslim personalities.
