What to Know
The Golden State Warriors might have tired legs after a contest yesterday as they head on the road against the Charlotte Hornets at 8 p.m. ET Feb. 20 at Spectrum Center. The Dubs know how to get points on the board — the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups — so hopefully Charlotte likes a good challenge.
The Warriors were close but no cigar this past Friday as they fell 124-120 to the Orlando Magic. Despite the loss, the Dubs had strong showings from shooting guard Kelly Oubre Jr., who had 26 points in addition to seven rebounds, and point guard Stephen Curry, who posted a double-double on 29 points and 11 dimes along with seven boards.
Meanwhile, the Hornets received a tough blow last week as they fell 122-110 to the San Antonio Spurs. Charlotte was up 33-17 at the end of the first quarter but couldn’t hold on to the lead. Despite the defeat, they got a solid performance out of shooting guard Terry Rozier, who had 33 points in addition to seven boards. Rozier’s night made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 33 points.
Barring any buzzer beaters, the Dubs are expected to win a tight contest this past Saturday. Those playing the odds have seen things go back and forth with the Dubs, who are 15-15 against the spread.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. We’ll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
