Chelsea under increased pressure to seal Werner or Aubameyang deals after Osimhen update

Chelsea could be forced to step up their pursuit of alternative striker options as Napoli close in on Lille frontman Victor Osimhen.

Chelsea are facing added pressure in their pursuit of a striker with Victor Osimhen looking increasingly likely to join Napoli, according to reports. The Blues are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements this summer in order to ease the goalscoring pressure on Tammy Abraham.

Frank Lampard is believed to have initially identified Moussa Dembele as his main striker target but the Chelsea manager has undoubtedly been keeping his eye on other options.

Timo Werner and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge while Osimhen has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs.

Chelsea were originally thought to be leading the race for the Nigerian forward, who has scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 38 appearances across all competitions this season.

It had even been suggested that the Blues were the unknown club who reportedly submitted an €85million (£75m) bid for the 21-year-old last month.
