Our correspondent gathered that the incident occurred around 10:20pm on Thursday, involving a silver Toyota RAV 4 with registration number, LND 13 GS; a silver Toyota Camry marked GGE 369 GJ and a Mazda bus with unidentified number.
It was gathered that the commercial bus was involved in wrongful overtaking before it hit a stationed faulty vehicle, the Toyota Rav 4 was parked in the middle of the road.
It was further gathered that in the process, the bus lost control, somersaulted severally before it burst into flames, killing a number of passengers.
The spokesman of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the accident to newsmen Friday morning.
“Seventeen passengers were in the bus when the crash happened. Three were seriously injured while 14 were burnt beyond recognition, among which were three kids,’’ he said.
He said TRACE operatives and other security agencies on ground rescued two to the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Centre and one other to the General Hospital, Gbagada.
